The duality of the holiday season!

This is the best time of the year to talk about decision fatigue. A lot of us will agree that this has been a long year filled with adventures, stress, decisions, hopes and dreams....all competing for finite brain power. But December holidays are just simply the best; the weather is great, work is starting to whittle down and we're getting the opportunity to spend time with loved ones and just REST (whew) . This can also be a very confusing time of the year though; that time when a lot of us will start to take a look back at the year that has just passed in preparation for the year that lies ahead. I'm not going to bore you with frequently repeated phrases or declarations  of "how amazing this year has been" or "how blessed I feel", sometimes I do get the sense that the world received a predefined, rehearsed script and I just never seem to be in on it.

Anyway, this is the perfect time for me to taper off, to reflect and to plan for the New Year. As I sit to think about my hopes and dreams for the New Year, I keep coming back to one over aching dream; I want 2015 to be the year when I truly, fearlessly and authentically tap into who I am and what I want! The phrase: "do you" has never sounded more fitting for me. In the coming new year I plan to embrace the advise below:

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.

But for now, let me get back to the sun and enjoy the rest of the holidays. There's no greater feeling than sitting with a cuppa joe, enjoying the sun and laughing with loved ones. Happy holidays :)
